Frequently Asked Questions

What's a health certificate?

The certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI) must contain a physical description, such as breed, sex, age, and color that sufficiently identifies the individual animal. The CVI must be completed by a licensed and accredited veterinarian within the thirty (30) days immediately prior to the animal entering certain states.

How far in advance should I book?

At least 90 days for International requests and preferably 30 days for all other requests.  The more in advance you book the more availability we will have.

Which types of animals can you transport?

Canines, felines, rabbits and guinea pigs.

What's the best way to transport my pet?

That depends! Because each trip or chaperone is personalized to suit your family member best, recommendations will vary.

How safe is air travel for pets?

A healthy pet should be able to fly safely. Elderly or ill pets may be at risk due to the stress associated with travel. You should speak to your veterinarian if you have concerns about flying with your pet.

What do I need to supply for my pet?

A (CVI) dated within 10 days of departure, acclimating your pet to the travel carrier a few weeks prior to travel is one of the best ways to help ease stress and a small amount of food for the journey, leash and collar (I can also provide these for the purchase amount). We will take care of the rest!

Can you travel with my pet internationally?

Absolutely!

Can I reschedule?

  • Cancellations that occur more than 5 days before the agreed pickup date are not eligible for a refund.
  • If you choose to receive your pet sooner than the date we agreed on, you are responsible for any changes that we may or may not be able to fix.
  • We will review and sign a contract that explains our policies in detail before paying a booking fee.

How do you make your travel plans?

Customized travel plans are made according to your pets needs while complying with USDA and airline regulations. We fly on confirmed flights only, securing your pets travel without standby worry.

How do you handle multi-day journeys?

With your pets comfort, health and safety as our #1 concern.

What happens if you encounter a travel delay?

  • We will be adaptive and patient, but focused on the health of the pet. If a flight is canceled/ changed and Fly Paws MT is required to return home until new arrival date, you will be responsible for all travel expenses. (Flight, gas, hotel)
  • If flight was changed/canceled and Fly Paws MT has agreed to stay at the destination for new flight arrival you are responsible for Fly Paws MT compensation (hotel valued up to $120 per night) plus a $250 rescheduling fee.
